HIKE

Throughout the month of June, one dollar from every No. 1 combo at Dickinson Theatres was collected for the Trent Green Family Foundation’s HIKE reading achievement program … and — tomorrow — $15,000 will be donated!

Along with the amazing $15,000 donation, movie patrons also donated countless books to HIKE that will benefit Kansas City kids in need.

Thank you to Dickinson Theatres and the people of Kansas City!

Theater In The Park

Theater in the Park teamed up with Former Kansas City Chiefs Trent Green and the HIKE (Help Instill the Key to Education) program his Family Foundation supports. HIKE provides low-income children individualized reading instruction in order to improve their literacy, leading to greater success in school and increased opportunities in life. HIKE needs books for its programs through Phoenix Family. Theatre patrons helped by donating OVER 700 new or gently used books (appropriate for middle schoolers and younger) during their run of “Tom Sawyer”.  When patrons donated a book they received a coupon for a free box of popcorn.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City’s Trent Green Golf Classic was held on June 2 and was a great day of golf, networking, food and friends! The weather was beautiful and provided a wonderful for golfing.

This year we had a record 265 golfers out to raise more than $210,000 to benefit critically ill children and their families. The day was especially memorable for golfer Todd Gafney who was the  winner of the 2014 Chevy Equinox for his hole-in-one!

Congratulations Todd, we hope you are enjoying your new wheels.
